Officer Rodney Holder was tragically killed on April 29th of 2010 when a car struck his patrol motorcycle. His family, including his wife Annmarie and his son, Kyler, are both so appreciative of what the community does to show support nearly four years later.
Annmarie says that the blue lights on display bring them great comfort and that she is so thankful for the support of the community. The Amarillo neighborhood has really made an effort to show that they want to keep Rodney's memory alive.
Although each day is difficult without their husband and dad, they say that the Christmas season is a little tougher because Rodney always loved this time of year. Many recall that he used to put a wreath, jingle bells, and lights on his patrol motorcycle.
The family and friends of Rodney Holder have set up a scholarship in his name and will host a 5K in March to raise funds.
