The Eula Community has raised over $2000 for Kelya Shipley.

Shipley needs special surgery to remove a 2.3 centimeter kidney stone, but no insurance company will cover her. Friends and family held a garage sale benefit over the weekend, raising part of the money she needs to get the surgery.

Shipley says that she has been amazed by the support the community has given her. People have not only given monetary donations, but all items at the garage sale were given as donations. Local teens baked for the bake sale, and another local girl made jewelry to sell as well.

It's this type of support that Shipley says will make her surgery possible.

The next fundraiser will be August 31st at Cattle Baron Restaurant in Abilene.
