Thursday's high winds and low humidity put a majority of the Big Country under a Red Flag Warning and at an extreme fire danger level.

One small brush fire broke out in Callahan Country early Thursday afternoon but was under control within a few hours. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, however it did spread rapidly due to the high winds.

Texas A&M Forest Service is urging folks to take precautions during these conditions. You can find more information about what you should and should not do by visiting www.texasfirewise.org
