Fire officials and dispatchers say the new system took getting used to, but they can see the difference.
The fire department says they've seen a significant decrease in the number of "low-priority" calls they've responded to. Which allows crews to be available for the "high-priority" calls.
Dispatchers say they feel more confident knowing how to help callers and dispatching the appropriate response units. Though it took time to adapt to the new system, dispatchers say it allows them to make a bigger difference when helping 911 callers.
