Police Arrest Suspect 26 Hours After Robbery

Twenty-six hours after a man robbed the Citibank on South 14th street, APD has made an arrest. Jacob Powell was detained after police stopped a vehicle similar to one seen driving away after the arrest in surveillance video.

Powell entered the Citibank around 1:20 Monday afternoon, made a verbal demand and then fled on foot. Many nearby businesses were concerned, and APD released the image from surveillance video.

Police stopped the red car sometime around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon, near North 2nd and Park St. APD took Powell into custody for questioning. Two and half hours later, Powell was arrested for the robbery.
