A Colorado City man is dead and a Snyder woman is in jail for murder after a shooting late Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Snyder Police Department, officers were called to a motel in the 1000 block of 25th Street just before 5 p.m. following reports of a shooting. There, they found 33-year-old Robert Silva of Colorado City. Silva was taken to Cogdell Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

At about the same time as police were arriving at the motel, another Snyder officer pulled over a vehicle in the 200 block of N. Old Lubbock Highway for a traffic violation. The officer discovered the male driver and female passenger had been involved in an altercation at the same location as the shooting, and further investigation revealed the passenger, 24-year-old Nicole Mann of Snyder, had been involved in the shooting that killed Silva.

Mann was arrested and charged with murder. She is currently in the Scurry County Jail.

This is the second time this spring that a woman has been charged with murder in Snyder. 21-year-old Casandra Lopez was recently indicted for the March 22 murder of 21-year-old Omar Diaz at his Snyder home. Lopez is in the Scurry County jail awaiting trial.
