The 11-year-old boy who was shot on Tuesday, May 6, allegedly by his stepfather, has been moved out of the Lubbock hospital he was originally in and transferred to another. His family has requested that the location of the current hospital not be disclosed.
The boy has undergone several surgeries from the gunshot wound he recieved to the leg, allegedly after attempting to hand his mother a pack of cigarettes she had asked for, but the step-father did not want her to have.
The boy's two brothers, one sister and grandmother were in other parts of the house and heard the gunshots.
The suspected shooter and boy’s step-father, Michael Quinonez, is still in the Jones County Jail. The case has been handed over to the District Attorney and will go before a grand jury, possibly this month.

According to Stamford Police Chief Darwin Huston, the boy is scheduled to undergo plastic surgery and seems to be doing okay.
The investigation is still ongoing.

The boy underwent a successful operation Wednesday morning and family members said he was doing well.
Thursday, CPS confirmed that the boy was still recovering well.

The mother of the 11-year-old boy that was shot Tuesday by his stepfather remains with her son Wednesday at the Lubbock hospital he was admitted to Tuesday.
According to the boy's grandmother, he underwent a successful surgery Wednesday morning to treat his injuries and is now talking and recovering well.
The stepfather remains in Jones County jail on a $32,500 bond.

According to the Stamford Police Chief, an 11-year-old boy was shot by his stepfather on Tuesday, May 6, following an argument he had with the boy's mother.
24-year-old Michael Quinonez has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence), and felon in possession of a firearm.
Quinonez allegedly shot the boy as he was bringing his mother a pack of cigarettes she had asked for, an action Quinonez had objected to.
The child remains in the hospital at this time.
