The names of three of the four injured and the name of the one person killed Thursday morning in a fireworks-related explosion in Comanche have been released.

Harry Dudley and Eddie Parker received minor injuries from the explosion. Rex Plumlee and a person who has not yet been named were critically injured in the explosion, and one of the two were flown to a hospital in Fort Worth for treatment, though authorities did not specify which.

Dr. Russell C. Reynolds, who worked as the town chiropractor, was killed in the explosion.

All those involved are members of the local Kiwanis Club who annually put on the show, which is one of the largest fireworks displays in Texas.

Around 9 a.m., a trailer containing fireworks for the town’s holiday festivities exploded at Comanche High School while the men were preparing for the show.

City and county officials are on the scene now and continuing to investigate. All festivities have been canceled.

The aerial footage above was provided by KXAS News.

We have crews on the scene and will have more information as it becomes available.
