A second person has been arrested in the shooting that took place in Santa Anna on Friday, March 28.

24-year-old Santa Anna resident Desirah Nicole Kile was with 43-year-old James Kelly Pape when he allegedly shot 40-year-old Jerry Mark Berry through the passenger window of his car.

She was picked up in Nolan County for failure to identify and currently remains in Nolan County jail.

In connection with the shooting, a warrant was issued for her arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with a bond of $25,000.

Once she is done with charges in Nolan County—if she doesn't post bond in Nolan—she will be taken back to Coleman County.

A suspect has been charged in the Santa Anna shooting that happened early Friday morning, March 28.

43-year-old James Kelly Pape has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly shooting 40-year-old Jerry Mark Berry around 3 a.m. that morning.

According to police, Pape shot Berry through the passenger window of Pape's car as Berry stood or approached from the outside. The Vehicle was found in the garage of the same abandoned house Pape was found in on South 2nd and Avenue D in Santa Anna.

Police also recovered a .22 calibur rifle.

Pape is currently being held on a $25,000

Berry has been released from the hospital.

Two people have been brought in for questioning following an early morning shooting in Santa Anna.

The shooting took place around 3 a.m. Friday morning at a home on the 600 block of Willis in Santa Anna, sending the victim to the hospital in Coleman for treatment.

The victim, who is yet unidentified, was later transferred to Abilene.

Sheriff’s deputies brought a man and a woman in for questioning Friday morning in connection with the shooting.

The man who was brought in was arrested for an outstanding warrant around 8:30 Friday morning. Police found him in an abandoned home on South 2nd and Avenue D.

So far, no charges have been filed and at this time no suspect has been named.

The victim remains at Hendrick Medical Center and is considered stable.
