Local women were helping low-income families by building houses in North Abilene. It's part of Habitat for Humanity's "Women Build" program.

But it's about more than just building houses, 80% of the work done on the project has to be done by women, including the fundraising. So Habitat for Humanity and Lowes teaches these women the skills needed. Not only for the project, but for every day life.

Women say it's a great chance to learn skills of their own while helping families in need within the community.
