Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas is currently accepting applications for the Fast Track Welding Program, which will be taught at the Abilene Campus of Cisco College. To be considered, applications must be returned by April 21, 2014.

Start date for the class will be May 5th. The Fast Track Welding Program is a partnership with the Development Corporation of Abilene, Cisco College, and Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas. The program is designed to assist not only those individuals, who would like to train for a new career as a welder, but to fill local job vacancies with area employers. Due to increased productivity in the area, Abilene has a strong demand for those with welding and metal fabrication skills.

Welding instruction will be provided by Cisco College. Those participants, who successfully complete the seven (7) week training program will receive a Welding Certification and OSHA Safety Certification. The Safety Certification portion will be taught by Canada and Associates. In addition to these certifications, Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas will provide employability skills training, resume writing and job application techniques to all participants. A hiring event with local employers will be scheduled to assist graduates with employment opportunities.
