Friday Chief Standridge addressed the incident surrounding the arrest of Jones County Sheriff's deputy, Stephanie Fenner. According to Standridge, Fenner was with two friends the night of April 25th when she was allegedly intoxicated and fired three shots at a truck with her friends inside. The incident occurred at the 7 Eleven convenience store in Northwest Abilene.

After fighting with a responding APD officer, Fenner was placed into custody and taken to the Taylor County Law Enforcement Center. Instead of being booked in the Taylor County jail, she was released to the custody of her parents. Fenner was not arrested until the following Monday at the Jones County Sheriff's Office. Fenner's father was a long time APD officer and currently works in law enforcement in Jones County. The investigation is ongoing.
