Tuesday, July 1st, marks the first day for thousands of Blue Cross Blue Shield customers of Texas to be considered out of network at Hendrick Medical Center.

Hendrick Medical Center CEO, Tim Lancaster, explains that the hospital has been negiotiating with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas for some time.

Lancaster says in the past, they gave in and did not receive the reimbursement rate increases they were looking for.

However, Lancaster says that they could not continue backing down and they do not believe that insurance companies should be making profits like they do.

Although no agreement was made by the midnight deadline, Hendrick hopes to work something out for the future.

So if you have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, what do you do about up coming appointments or continuing care?

KTAB's Victor Sotelo has been looking into it and joins us at Hendrick Medical Center with the answer.
