Abilene Independent School District board trustees will meet tonight at Mann Middle School for a final time before voters decide on a multimillion dollar bond to upgrade schools in the district.
The bond election is the largest to date in the district's history. The $87.7 million school bond includes the replacement of three schools and other district-wide renovations. Tonight's meeting will include an informational tour of the Mann campus, which is expected to receive new classrooms, auditorium renovation and safety and security upgrades, if the bond is passed.
Early voting begins next Monday, Oct. 21. Election day is Nov. 5.
The meeting's agenda also includes a public hearing on the district's 2012-2013 financial rating, on which AISD received a 'superior' rating.
