According to Judy Wilhelm of the Abilene Small Business Development Center, "It is a really difficult time in their life to have to make that decision as to whether we rebuild whether we relocate what do we do and that is what i have kind of heard today it is just highly emotional." The meeting today was a way of bringing resources such as the Small Business Development Center and the Workforce Solutions of West Texas. Jerry Conner the executive director of the board said they made these resources available to, "help those merchants find different w ways economically to go and rebuild their business thought the small business administration and also to assist their employees that have been that don't have a job right now and what aid is available for those people through the work force board." The main goal is to let the small business owners know they are not alone.Today was just the first of many meetings to come regarding the fire in Eastland and right now the projection for rebuilding is around $750,000 dollars.
