It has been a little over a week since the fire at Shady Oaks Shopping Center in Eastland. Business owners are trying to get back on their feet but losing their inventory and buildings has made that difficult. Some businesses have relocated temporarily but others like Phancy Nails Salon have made their relocation permanent. Tina Phan owner of the nail salon said a loyal customer has helped her find a location and utilize it rent free until she can get back on her feet financially. Most all business owners agree that the out pouring support from the community has been a big help in the struggle of reopening their doors. This past Saturday a fund raiser was held to raise money for the victims they raised over $1000 to donate to the business owners. Some businesses are already fixing things up to move back like the Doughnut Shop. Comet cleaners was spared by the fire due to a fire wall that was installed during construction but they say it is too quiet in the shopping center and they are looking forward to the return on their neighbors.
