Roses are popular gifts come Valentines Day, but there are other options if you’re running out of ideas.

Cut flowers will last you about three to four days. Potted indoor plants will last you much longer.

A unique gift to give someone is an herb garden. BJ Mankin from Mankin and Sons says herb gardens have become quite popular. Herb gardens are great for the winter season, as many herbs can handle the cold weather.

You can plant strawberries in the late winter as well. Some farmers however, prefer to wait until April.

Valentine’s Day is of course a busy holiday for florists throughout the region.
