TXDOT Predicts Roads Will Get Even Worse

The Texas Department of Transportation sent out their first road crew earlier than planned last night. Severe winter weather hit the Big Country just after 10 p.m., causing dangerous road conditions for drivers.

TXDOT is urging people not to travel unless it is absolutely essential. Mary Beth Kilgore, with TXDOT in Taylor Country says, "If you can stay home and stay off the streets."

TXDOT says their crews will continue working 12-hour shifts until the roads clear up, which they expect won't be until Friday morning. Early morning commuters should leave plenty of time to get to work over the next few days.

KTAB decided to hit the streets to see just how bad the roads had gotten on Tuesday night.
