There are numerous breathtaking photos of severe weather events online, but there are some circumstances where your safety is more important. We at KTAB love the photos and videos you send us on our multiple social media outlets, but we do want you to remember that your safety should always come first.

It is never a good idea to put yourself in harms way for the sake of a photo or video. Most of the pictures and videos online are taken by professional storm spotters or chasers. These individuals are trained to know what the best angles and safest distances are to see the storms without compromising their safety.

However, there are even instances where they aren't so lucky. We have a motto here at KTAB "When in doubt, don't".

If you are ever unsure of the safety of a situation, it's better to protect yourself than to get the video or photograph. While we do appreciate and love to share all your wonderful pictures and videos, please be sure you are completely safe before you capture these images.
