The Fort Phantom Hill Lake Association held its 38th annual meeting tonight in Abilene. Leaders of the association discussed the progress of an 11-phased project that was started by the city in 2009. After longtime requests from residents and the association, the city agreed to give property owners the option to own the land their lots are on, instead of leasing it. The beginning phases of the project went smoothly. On the west side of the lake, 80 out of the 95 lots that were offered for sale were purchased by residents. Now, city officials and lake association leaders are hoping the remaining phases mirror in that success.
