12th Armored Division Memorial Museum raises $20,000 for HVAC repairs

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum has raised the $20,000 needed for emergency repairs to its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system.

During a Facebook live video Tuesday, museum officials confirmed their donation campaign was a success, even leaving them with a little money left over for future emergencies.

The current repairs are necessary because 2 of the museum's 7 climate control units have failed over the past few months.

"Climate control is absolutely essential. We need a certain level of temperature and a certain level of humidity to preserve these artifacts so they can be used to teach and can be used by future generations of scholars when they're writing papers and learning about the second world war," 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum employee William Lenches told KTAB and KRBC.

The $20,000 was raised in just a few weeks.
