$14.25M winning lottery ticket sold in Abilene claimed

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Two days before a $14.25 million winning lottery ticket was set to expire, it has been claimed.

The ticket was sold at Abilene's HEB grocery store back in June.

The Texas Lottery said the ticket was claimed by ASAHODESKA Trust, Catherine Kim Fowlkes, Trustee, of Abilene.

If not claimed, the ticket would have expired on Dec. 14, 180 days after the winning numbers were drawn.

According to lottery officials, the cash value option was chosen at the time of purchase. The winner will receive one lump sum payment of $10,072,040.86

“On behalf of the Texas Lottery, I want to congratulate the AHSODESKA Trust on their luck and good fortune,” said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery.
