3 people taken to hospital after two-car collision on Butternut

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Three people have been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a two-vehicle accident on Butternut Street.

A truck with four teenage passengers traveling southbound on Butternut hit a second vehicle on South 13 that failed to yield the right of way due to a vehicle blocking it's line of sight.

The second vehicle contained a 31-year-old mother and her three children, a 3-month-old, a 9-year-old and a 10-year-old. It was stopped at a stop sign on South 13 and Butternut where a vehicle parked near the corner was blocking her line of sight, causing her to edge into the street where the vehicle was then struck by the truck.

The 10-year-old, the mother and the driver of the other vehicle were all three taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The mother was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
