3 suspects arrested for Aggravated Robbery in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Three suspects accused of Aggravated Robbery were arrested during a police bust operation in Abilene Wednesday morning.

Three others were also arrested during the operation.

Jamar Sims, Chazsman Small, and Michael Payne were all taken into custody just after 6 a.m. after Abilene police executed a search warrant at a home. 

Police said the trio was connected to an October 4 aggravated robbery in south Abilene. In that incident, police said several men reported they were robbed at gunpoint by unknown men. 

All three men are being held in the Taylor County Jail on a $65,000 bond each for Aggravated Robbery. Payne is also facing a Possession of Marijuana charge. 

During the operation, police said officers from various divisions executed four separate search warrants at the same time at different locations in the Alameda addition. 

Arrest reports state detectives obtained the search warrant after receiving information that all three men were connected to a robbery.

The suspects were then interviewed and all three confessed to their involvement in the crime, according to the reports. 

The ones not accused in the robbery, but also arrested on other charges include Douglas Sims, Shayla McKelvie and Megan Stewart. All were arrested on drug charges, in addition to Sims on a charge of Possession of Firearm by Felon.
