5 killed in West Texas crash Thanksgiving weekend

ANDREWS COUNTY, Texas (KLBK/KAMC) - The Texas Department of Public Safety reported Tuesday that 5 people were killed in a 3 vehicle accident in Andrews County Saturday evening.

The accident occurred at the intersection of State Highways 115 and 128, approximately 22 miles southwest of Andrews, around 7:15 p.m.

Authorities said a Ford Mustang, traveling south on Highway 128, disregarded at stop sign at the intersection and collided with a northbound semi-truck and trailer on Highway 115.

The collision pushed the semi-truck and trailer into the southbound lane of Highway 115, where it collided with a Ford F-150.

Augustin S. Lujan, 27, of Odessa was pronounced deceased at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. Mr. Lujan was identified as the driver of the Ford Mustang. The DPS said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Juan C. Ramirez, 51, of Yuma, Arizona, was pronounced deceased at the accident scene. Mr. Ramirez was identified as the driver of the semi-truck. The DPS said he was wearing a seatbelt.

Silverio Gonzales, 51, Maria D. Cepeda-Orona, 42, and Allison A. Gonzales, 7, all of Pecos were pronounced dead at the accident scene. All three victims were inside the Ford F-150. The DPS report said the adults were wearing seatbelts but the child was not wearing one.
