9-year-old's show goat reported stolen from Brownwood FFA barn

BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A Brownwood mother says her 9-year-old son is "truly heartbroken" after learning his prized show goat June Bug was stolen overnight Sunday.

Jamie Foster told KTAB and KRBC June Bug was being housed in Brownwood ISD's FFA barn when she disappeared between 9:45 p.m. Sunday night and 6:30 a.m. Monday morning.

She says her son has a special attachment to June Bug because he used money he earned from last year's goat to buy her, and that "he and his dad looked for many hours to find the perfect one".

June Bug is white and brown with a marking on her outside back flank and an ear tag that reads 1743, if it's still attached.

The Brownwood Police Department told KTAB and KRBC they are investigating this goat theft and they are asking anyone with information to please come forward.

Tonight on KRBC News at 10:00 p.m., Pheben Kassahun will talk to the little boy about how much his goat meant and will have more information about the theft from Brownwood ISD.
