Abilene Church Hit by Stray Bullet

Abilene, Texas - (KTAB) - The Life Church in Abilene usually sees around 60 to 100 people at its services, so thankfully on Thursday when a stray bullet came through the roof, there were only a few men cleaning at the time.

"One of the guys was finishing cleaning up the back rows and he walked out for maybe a half second," stated Adam Rios, who was there when the bullet was found, "and he came back in and he said I think there's a rat or something that ate a hole through the ceiling."

It wasn't a rat at all, it was a stray bullet.

"The crew that was cleaning in the sanctuary told me that they had found a bullet," added Pastor Ezequiel Pecina.

The bullet came through the ceiling and hit the pulpit.

"I preach at that pulpit," Pastor Pecina said.

During their services, they do alter calls.

"Whenever there's an actual prayer service going on there's usually 60 to 100 people up here praying and the Pastors praying over everybody," explained Adam Rios. "So, if it would have happened at that time, someone would have got struck in the head."

Although no one was injured Pastor Pecina says it could have been worse.

Abilene Police are still investigating.
