Abilene family searches for "special" golf cart stolen Sunday morning

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB) - A day of golfing between father and son turned into a day of searching for a stolen golf cart.

The Jones family woke up Sunday morning to discover their son's golf cart was gone.

"He (her husband) already had it hooked up to his truck and he went out there to put some golf clubs in it," stated Susan Jones. "He noticed the wheel on the trailer was in a weird spot. Then he looked up and noticed the cart was gone."

The car belonged to their 25-year-old son Cody. He has Autism.

"That's my golf cart," added Cody Jones. "I play golf."

He has loved golf since he started with Special Olympics.

His dad, Tracy, chose to buy him a golf cart almost three years ago and he painted it his favorite color.

"My husband painted it camo because Cody loves green," explained Susan Jones. "Ever since he was little he's loved green."

A police report was filed with the Abilene Police Department but the family's also taken to social media in hopes of finding the golf cart.

You can call Susan or Tracy at 669-3465, 338-8853 if you have any information on the stolen cart.
