Abilene Family Seeks Justice After Uncle is Killed in Hit and Run

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB) - An Abilene family is seeking justice after their uncle, 52-year-old Roy Flores was killed in a hit and run accident in Dallas this past weekend.

"Nobody deserves to be hit and left on the side of the road like nothing," stated Roy's niece, Mercedes Flores.

He worked for UPS and was finishing his normal route on Highway 80 in Forney when the family says he fell ill and pulled over and got out of his truck.

"In the time that he was vomiting," explained Flores,"I guess a car stuck him and the impact to the ground caused him to pass away."

Forney Police told the Flores family the driver fled but a good Samaritan had seen the body and called police.

"He said immediately he turned the flashlight on his phone and started directing traffic to be away from his body just so he didn't continue to get hit more," Flores said.

The family also hopes to meet this man, Willie Coleman, who helped them with some closure knowing their Uncle Roy was not alone.

You can call Forney Police at 972-564-7607 or Crime Stoppers at 877-847-7522 if you have any info on this crime.
