Trial of Abilene man accused of sexually assaulting 4-year-old rescheduled

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The trial of an Abilene man accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old has been rescheduled.

Trinity Ray Moore, 36, will now stand trial for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child at an undetermined date.

Moore's trial initially began Monday, but during the jury selection process, State prosecutors were granted a continuance, citing "evidentiary" reasons.

Court documents state police began investigating Moore after a girl came forward and claimed that Moore was having sexual contact with her 4-year-old sister in January of 2016.

Investigators then conducted a forensic interview, according to the documents, which say during this interview, the victim described several sexual acts Moore forced her to engage in.

The victim's mother was able to find evidence that verified some of these claims, the documents reveal.

Moore was released from the Taylor County Jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
