Abilene Man Accused of Shooting Mother Officially Charged

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene man accused of shooting his mother has been officially indicted and charged in connection to the incident.

Calvin Dunn, Jr, 21, is now behind bars in the Taylor County Jail for Aggravated Assault and other unrelated warrants. He's being held on bonds totaling over $220,000.

A Taylor County Grand Jury indicted Dunn on the Aggravated Assault charge last week in connection to the shooting in April of 2017.

Dunn is accused of shooting his mother, Rene Crosby, 42, during an altercation at the Abilene North Apartments on the 2400 block of N. Willis Street.

Crosby was in critical condition following the shooting but did survive the attack.

Dunn fled the scene of the crime and was taken into custody without incident almost one month after the shooting. He was considered "armed and dangerous" while he was on the run.
