Abilene Man Convicted of Child Sex Crimes Found Burned to Death Outside of Oklahoma Church

CHICKASHA, Oklahoma (KTAB/KRBC) - The body of a former Abilene man convicted of child sex crimes was found burned outside of a church in Oklahoma.

According to NBC station KFOR in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, early Friday morning Chickasha police were called to the scene of a fatality near the First Missionary Baptist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

When police arrived on scene they discovered the burned body of Michal Dean Walworth, the 55-year-old pastor at the First Missionary Baptist Church.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and police said this is an isolated incident presenting no further danger to the public.

Walworth previously lived in Abilene, where he was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault Indecency with a Child in October of 1997. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years probation.  He was discharged from probation in 2008.
