ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene man was found guilty of beating and sexually assaulting a woman in July of 2016.
John Franklin Earl, 39, was convicted on one count of Sexual Assault during a jury trial Wednesday and will receive his sentence after an investigation that can take up to 45 days.
Court documents state the victim told police she was riding in the car with Earl, whom she had just met earlier that day when he "grabbed her hair and started hitting her in the face".
Earl then pulled into a church parking lot and began taking off the victim's clothes while she was screaming, according to the documents, which state the victim heard Earl say things like "I'm not going to kill you but don't make me", and "I decided to rape her. . . "
The victim was able to escape after enduring sexual assault and the documents state investigators were able to find the victim's blood on the front and back seats of Earl's vehicle.
BigCountryHomepage will update this article when Earl receives his sentence.
