Abilene pedestrian hospitalized after being struck during chain-reaction crash

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in south Abilene Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened at the intersection of Barrow Street and S. 11th Street just before 12:30 p.m. 

Police at the scene told KTAB and KRBC a car ran a red light at the intersection and struck an SUV, causing it to spin out and hit a pedestrian walking in the area.

The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Citations for running a red light, no license, and no insurance were issued to the driver of the car involved in this wreck.
