Abilene police clarify no threat made to Cooper High School

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The Abilene Police Department (APD) issued a statement late Sunday evening clarifying that a social media threat towards "CHS" is not believed to be referring to Cooper High School in Abilene.

APD reported that the threat originated in Clovis, New Mexico, and that an arrest has already been made by local authorities.

As a precaution, Abilene police have made additional security measures at Cooper High School.

"We do not have any specific threats naming Cooper High School, however, we will have additional Law Enforcement Officers at Cooper High School tomorrow, Monday, April 9th to provide a greater sense of Safety and Security for the students, staff and parents of Cooper High School." APD said in their statement Sunday.
