Abilene Police Continue Search for Suspect Accused of Shooting Mother

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB) - Abilene Police are still searching for a man accused of shooting his mother in the head.

21-year-old Calvin Dunn has been on the run since this morning after police say he and his mother got in an argument.

APD believes this is what caused Dunn to shoot his own mother.

She was rushed to Hendrick Medical Center where she remains in serious condition.

When patrol officers and detectives arrived on scene, Dunn was gone.

"We were able to ultimately find several witnesses," stated Chief Stan Standridge.

Later in the afternoon, police received a tip that Dunn may be hiding in a home on the 2000 block of Park Street.

Family of Dunn stood by and watched as the APD SWAT team descended on the home.

"He just needs some help," added Lisa Polk, Dunn's aunt. "We know he needs some help. Let him come on out and turn himself it."

The SWAT team was not able to locate 21-year-old Calvin Dunn.

He still remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

Abilene Police are asking for the publics held to find him.
