Abilene police holding press conference on Niblo murder investigation

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The Abilene Police Department is going to hold a press conference Tuesday morning on the murder of Abilene realtor Tom Niblo.

The press conference will take place at the Law Enforcement center beginning at 11:30 a.m., according to a Tweet sent by the Abilene Police Department.

KTAB and KRBC will be carrying this conference live on BigCountryHomepage.com and on Facebook, beginning at this time.

Niblo was shot eight times while in bed at his home on the 3700 block of Woodridge Drive the morning of December 12, 2016. His wife was home at the time of the shooting but managed to escape without injury.

Niblo's brother-in-law, Luke Sweetser, remains the only publicly-identified suspect in connection to this case.

Multiple court documents reveal Sweetser has no alibi for the night of the murder, and he was also involved in an ongoing dispute with Niblo regarding Niblo's late father's estate.

Niblo and his mother had been made executors of the estate, but Niblo's sister - Sweetser's wife, Ellouise Niblo Sweetser - was not named an executor, according to the documents.

Several properties owned by the Niblo and Sweetser families have been searched during the ongoing murder investigation.

Multiple search warrants were also filed so detectives could gain access to both Sweetsers' electronic data and communications before, during, and after the murder.

A recap of the most recent information released during the investigation can be found here
