Abilene teen indicted on 10 charges for multiple armed robberies

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene man has been indicted on 10 charges in connection to multiple armed robberies over the summer. 

During a Grand Jury session Thursday. Utassius Arberry, 18, was indicted for the incidents detailed in court documents as follows:

  1. August 26 (1 count of Aggravated Robbery, 1 count of Robbery) - A masked suspect entered an Abilene 7-11 with a gun in hand, went behind the counter, started grabbing cigarettes, then demanded money before fleeing the scene. 
  2. August 31 (1 count of Aggravated Robbery, 1 count of Robbery) - A masked man entered an Abilene 7/11, went around the counter after setting down items to purchase, pointed a gun at the clerk, then left with money and cigarettes. 
  3. September 5  (3 counts of Aggravated Robbery, 3 counts of Robbery) - A suspect entered an Abilene Walgreens, went to the pharmacy, jumped over the counter, and threatened to shoot 3 employees while demanding cough syrup and pain medication. He then fled the scene with his requests. 

The documents state Arberry confessed in some capacity to all 3 armed robberies listed above. 

He was taken into custody on September 14 and is currently being held in the Taylor County Jail on bonds totaling $105,000.
