Abilene woman creates Hurricane Harvey t-shirts for family back home

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene woman who recently relocated from Houston is crafting and selling t-shirts to aid her family dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey back home.

Teresa Guzman Perez told KTAB and KRBC she began making the shirts after learning her mother's home had been completely destroyed by floods for the second time.

The shirts display messages supporting Texas, like "Houston Strong" and "Pray for Texas", and all shirts contain #HurricaneHarvey at the bottom as a reminder of the event that's devastated so many families across the state.

Perez will be selling her shirts at Big Country Transmission at 165 Ruidosa Avenue on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

She plans to have at least 100 shirts available, including kids sizes, and she will be taking orders as well.

The shirts will cost $15 each.
