Abilene's First Aquatic Center Projected to Open by June

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Construction on Abilene new aquatic center is on schedule and the attraction is projected to open by the beginning of June!

City Officials confirmed the project was on schedule and said the opening date will be at the end of May or possibly the beginning of June barring any major weather events.

The City of Abilene held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Rose Park Family Aquatics Center bond project in August and crews have been working to get the park ready ever since.

The aquatic center will feature a pool with beach entry, a lazy river, water slides, and more.

General admission for children will vary based on age from $2 - $4 and adults will be charged $6.50.

Mayor Archibald is excited for the commencement and future of this project. “The Aquatic Center is something that our citizens have been wanting for quite some time.  The City of Abilene is thrilled that we will finally be able to fulfill those wishes,” he said.  “The Rose Park Family Aquatics Center will offer family fun to our community for years to come.”
