Accused drug dealer arrested after leading Abilene police on chase in stolen vehicle

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An accused drug dealer shot in the face last month was taken into custody after leading police on a chase through north Abilene in a stolen vehicle Friday afternoon.

Martin Estrada, 28, was taken into custody when he bailed from the vehicle and tried to jump a barbed wire fence outside a mobile home business at the intersection of N. 10th Street and S. Clack Street around 4:00 p.m.

Police at the scene told KTAB and KRBC they tried to initiate a traffic stop on Estrada to put him under arrest for a felony methamphetamine warrant, but he refused to pull over.

Officers began pursuit through north Abilene around 3:30 p.m. and scanner traffic indicates the chase reached speeds of up to 90 miles-per-hour.

2 other suspects, who were with Estrada when he fled from police, were detained as well and will be arrested on unrelated warrants.

Court documents state Estrada is wanted because police found over 90 grams of methamphetamine inside his residence on the 100 block of S. Pioneer Drive while investigating a shooting on November 13.

Officers arrived on scene and found Estrada suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his face and chest.

When investigators went inside to check for additional victims, the documents state they noticed a baggie containing a "crystal white substance", so they obtained a search warrant.

93.4 grams of methamphetamine was then found in various locations around the residence, according to the warrant.
