Arrest made after investigation of a body found in Taylor County

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Taylor County Sheriff's Office have identified the body of Tony Lanar Elkins, 60, of Ovalo, TX. 

On Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, what was believed to be identified as a body was reported by deer hunter's on a ranch in southeastern Taylor County leading to an investigation.

Through an investigation, the Taylor County Sheriff's Office obtained probable cause to believe Phillip Roberts Aldridge, 71, had " intentionally or knowingly caused the death of Tony Elkins, by driving over, and subsequently dragging him with a vehicle."  

According to a press release, Aldridge was an associate of Elkin's. He has been arrested and charged with first degree murder.

Aldridge is being held on a $100,000 bond in the Taylor County Jail. 

The Coleman County Sheriff's Office assisted with the investigation.
