Bend and Brew: A new form of stress relief offered in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB) - It's a trend that's caught on in bigger cities like Dallas and Austin and now Abilene is limbering up to the idea.

It's called "Bend and Brew" and it's a mix of yoga and beer.

"I think a lot of times people think that yoga is so serious and meditative and you come to relax," stated yoga instructor Camie Garvey, "but this puts a different spin on it.  You get to relax and have fun."

She is the owner of the Abilene Yoga house and she teamed up with local brewing company Sockdolager to start a "Bend and Brew" class here.

The classes are the first Friday of each month and they take place at the brewery located on China Street.

"Teaming up with another local business for us is huge. It's super exciting and it's a way to show that we're not here to take away from you, we're not here to be competition for you," added Will Meiron, co-owner of Sockdolager. "We're here to support you and we hope you support us as well."

The classes are $20 and that includes your first beer.
