'Booger Bandit' caught on camera stealing from Abilene liquor store

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene liquor store made quite the find when they checked their surveillance footage and found a suspect stealing some whiskey while digging for gold.

That's right. . .this suspect, later identified as Kevin Allan Smith, 22, was caught on camera knuckle deep while trying to conceal a bottle of limited edition Michters Whiskey Barrel Strength Rye from Filo Liquors store on the 4300 block of Rio Mesa Drive Wednesday afternoon.

He's also seen looking straight into the liquor store's high-definition cameras.

Filo Liquors has dubbed Smith the Booger Bandit due to the behavior he presented on their security cameras.

Store owners told KTAB and KRBC he was caught about three hours after the theft, thanks to the quick work of the Abilene Police Department.

Police say Smith received a citation for the incident. His mugshot is not available.
