Boy found safe in Galveston after being separated from family by rough surf

GALVESTON, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An 11-year-old special needs boy was separated from his family by rough waters on Saturday.

According to KHOU.com, 11-year-old Salvador was swimming with his family in Galveston, Texas when the boy was caught in rough waters.

Salvador's family immediately began to search for him. Several agencies assisted, and bloodhounds were even brought in.

Finally after over three hours of searching, KHOU.com reports that the boy was found nearly three miles from where he disappeared, playing in shallow waters.

Salvador's parents told KHOU.com that he has autism and loves to play in the water, but does not like being surrounded by large groups of people.

The family was very happy to be reunited with their son and put the whole ordeal behind them.
