Brownwood ISD employee fired after student computers disappear

BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A Brownwood ISD employee was fired during an investigation into the disappearance of several student computers.

District officials noticed the computers were missing in early December, prompting an internal investigation that involved the use of tracking software to find the computers on January 12, according to a press release from BISD.

The press release states, "because of statements made to the police during the investigation, an employee of the district was immediately terminated."

KTAB and KRBC have reached out to the Brownwood Police Department to get more information on if the terminated employee will face criminal charges in connection to this investigation.
