ABILENE, Texas (KRBC) - If your Christmas gifts did not make the cut this time around, KRBC may have a solution for you!
Two months ago, an Abilene staple announced that it was closing its doors after 73 years of business.
Busch Jewelers owner, Don Fite, made the announcement because he was retiring.
The 61-year-old told KRBC he is looking forward to life after retirement with his wife and six dogs.
KRBC learned that liquidation is now going in full-force, being set to close Saturday, December 30 at 5 p.m.
Fite said shoppers can expect more deals in the store's final week of business.
"It's very exciting and we're getting closer," owner Don Fite said.
He is making sure this Christmas is extra special for those in the Key City.
"We've got promotions that run every week. They vary from week to week. Right now, we have what we call a balloon pop, which means whatever the sale price is, you can get in an extra, either 10 percent or up to 50 percent off of that sale price already," Fite said.
With less than one week left of his precious jewelry store being in business, he is not wasting anytime!
"Santa Claus is 50 off, candy cane is 10 percent and there's 15, 20 and 30 too," Fite said.
His store has never done this type of sale during its 73 years of operation and said it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime sale opportunity!
"We'll be here after Christmas to take care of some helpful things for the clients - shorten bracelets, size rings and things like that," Fite said.
After those doors close on Saturday, Fite said he is just looking forward to spending a little more time with the misses and his six dogs.
"My wife and I are looking forward to slowing down a little bit. I've got my first grandbaby on the way, so it's very exciting," Fite said.
