Clyde PD K-9 sniffs out 5 ounces of meth, several baggies of cocaine

CLYDE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Clyde police are praising their K9 Achilles after he enabled officers to recover 5 ounces of methamphetamine and several baggies of cocaine.

An unidentified driver was arrested after Achilles sniffed out the drugs, worth an estimated $12,000 to $14,000, while assisting a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper during a traffic stop Tuesday.

Police did not disclose what charges the driver is facing.

"Good job to Achilles, his handler Officer Barnett, and the great work of the Highway Patrol," a social media post on Achilles' "good day" reads.
