DA: Murder Charge Dropped Against Abilene Man, Shooting was Self-Defense

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A murder charge has been dropped against an Abilene man accused of shooting an killing his roommate over two years ago. 

Brian Andrew Fogiel, 24, was cleared of a 1st Degree Murder charge on Monday because evidence corroborates Fogiel's claim that the shooting was self-defense, according to the Taylor County District Attorney's Office.

The shooting happened at south Abilene apartment complex in April of 2015. 

Fogiel was arrested the same day as the shooting and remained in jail until he posted a $100,000 bond in July of 2015.
