Documents: Abilene teen robbed, shot in chest was buying gun from suspect

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - An Abilene teen who was robbed and shot in the chest was trying to buy a gun from the suspect, according to court documents unsealed Wednesday.

The documents state the 15-year-old victim was picked up by Shawnocey Droemer, 17, in October after communicating with him about the purchase of a firearm. 

Once the victim got into a vehicle with Droemer and 3 other people, he showed Droemer the money he was going to use to buy the gun, and the group drove to a residence on the 1400 block of Kirkwood Street, according to the documents.

Droemer then started walking toward an alley with the victim, saying they were going to get the gun, however, the documents state he pulled a gun on the victim, demanded he empty his pockets, and shot him in the chest when the victim refused. 

The documents state Droemer then took money and a phone from the victim's pockets and punched him in the face when the victim refused to give Droemer the passcode to his phone. 

Droemer was identified as the suspect in the robbery during a subsequent investigation and is now being held in the Taylor County Jail on bonds totaling $175,000 for Aggravated Robbery and Robbery. 

An additional victim came forward after Droemer's October arrest and said he had been beaten and robbed by Droemer on Kirkwood Street in June.
